Social Classes
In Aphroditus, there were four main social classes. The rich, which consisted of 20,000 people, the middle class, which had 5,000 people, the low class, which had 1,000 people, and the slaves, which had the greatest population of 60,000 in Aphroditus. In total, Aphroditus had a small population of 86,000 people. The wealthy class had higher paying jobs, which required having an education, such as architects, playwrights, philosophers, actors and council men.The middle class, in which people had a moderate amount of education, took jobs like shopowners, bakers, craftsmen, blacksmiths, soldiers, and lower positions in government. The low class citizens had jobs such as fishermen, hunters, shepherds, and soldiers. The slaves had the worst and lowest jobs that did not pay. They did the more laborious and grueling jobs like farmers, servents, and construction workers.
